Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1996 BMW IX is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Christopher B, owner of a 1997 BMW Z3 from Pewee Valley, KY

Good quality paint. The spray can worked great with no splatter.

Bernd B, owner of a 1997 BMW Z3 from Huntsville, AL

Good company to deal with. Good prices - great products. Good instructions. One stop shopping. I repaired (Bondo) a Z3 cracked bumper. Paint match was perfect. The Z3 hood had peeling clear coat. I removed all of the clearcoat and redid the whole hood. This was a challenge because of the size of the area and all the curves involved. I put on 4 coats of basepaint color and 4 coats of clearcoat. You might want to sand a layer every so often, to counter the orange peel affect - once it starts it accumulates with each layer. So I had some extra sanding and rubbing compounding to do at the end. A few minor flaws were due to my inexperience, but all in all, I'm quite convinced I could paint the entire car if need be, and may yet. All for several hundred dollars, vs. the thousands I was getting in quotes. A fun and rewarding project. Thanks for getting my old 1997 Z3 back in a condition to were I can be proud to be seen in it.
