Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1973 Ford Pinto is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Just what I needed.

I am very satisfied with the color match as my car is a '72 Ford LTD painted the original color. I wanted to paint the wheels the same color and your color match worked great. On the other hand, the primer and the base color spray cans were not so great as the tip clogged several times and had to be cleaned each time. Very annoying. Incidentally, both were properly mixed per instructions and at ambient temperature (about 93). The clear-coat performed flawlessly and the finished product turned out superb. Will not hesitate to use your products again but hope the clogging issues will be resolved.
