Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1990 Honda CR-Z is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Dennis F, owner of a 1991 Honda Accord from Hampshire, IL

Forty years ago I used a stock color to custom paint my then new motorcycle. Two weeks ago I was ready to touch-up some damaged areas. Even though I had saved the original cans for all these years none of the local auto paint sellers could match the code. Sheila at Automotive Touchup found it, and the staff recreated it. I haven't finished that project yet but my previous experience with their paint for my '91 Honda Accord was very successful. The paint matched, was easy to apply, without runs, and the gloss was far better than I expected. Thank you!

Randy E, owner of a 1991 Honda Prelude from Olive Branch, MS

The overall experience was excellent. The shipments have always been fast and accurate. Packaging is done well. The little extra things included that were not expected make a big difference and are a real plus. Air filter, Paint Filters, Stir sticks. This shows they are really interested in you getting positive results as opposed to just selling you paint. I like the online instructional videos but would like to see them offer just a little more detail. One I would like to see is paint gun setup etc. For instance different results good and bad with particular settings. HVLP is what I am using. Also easy ways to clean up afterwards. The base coat and clear coat products are easy to use. They cover well and are not prone to producing orange peel even when gun setup not being perfect. I have some experience but it takes practice to get consistent professional results. I just practiced some on scrap pieces to get to know the paint and gun settings and was able to get great results.
