Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 2000 Honda Ballade is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

It was OK!

Richard C, owner of a 2001 Honda CR-V from Watkins Glen, NY

I'm experienced in using a spray gun for automotive finishes, so was dubious of the "rattle can" approach. But this was a rust repair job on a 15 year old car, so a mediocre paint job was OK. The delivery time was long, it seemed like weeks, so I prepped the job the same as I would for a pro job. The spray cans did a good job. There was enough "build" so I could sand the color with 1200-1500 and the same with the clear coat, followed by buffing, and it came out nice. A pro could find fault with this job, but for a basic transportation car, the repair was nearly invisible. The only problems I had were the long delivery, as the car was tied up too long, and the color (solid red) didn't match all that well, but that was due to the original finish being 15 years old.
