Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 2004 Kia Optima is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

While painting from an aerosol can is problematic, your product does a good job with matching.

Randall S, owner of a 2004 Kia Optima from Kansas City, KS

I am so incredibly pleased with your product. It was a perfect match. Even as old as my car is I was worried about a bit of fading. I've told all my friends on facebook about you. Can't be happier! :)

Ron W, owner of a 2004 Kia Optima from Duluth, MN

I ordered paint for my 2004 Kia Optima. It is a red metallic paint and it ended up being a perfect match. I had repaired the rear quarter panel rust and only painted about half of the pane. After I used the clear coat, you cannot tell where I stopped painting and the original paint. I will definitely use you again for my future repair work.

Jorge Camacho, owner of a 2004 Kia Optima from Crofton, Ky

Jorge Camacho, I was a little scared thinking it would be impossible for the paint was identical to 100%. To my surprise it is identical to 100%. Besides my car with sunlight and shade it tends to have a purple hue. And the painting that Automotive Touch sending me produces the same effect as well. My neighbors and friends could not believe it. I completely stay with the open mouth and surprised.

Drew S, owner of a 2004 Kia Optima from Connellsville, PA

The application was really simple. I purchased an attachment for my drill to buff away the rust on my body and then cleaned the area with some window cleaner so it evaporated quickly. I sprayed with the primer and waited 24 hours (although I could have moved forward much sooner than that). I did not sand between the primer and the paint. It's not extremely noticeable, but I would recommend taking some ultra fine sandpaper to make it nice and smooth before applying the paint. After the primer dried, I masked off where I didn't want my paint and, with smooth even sprays, covered all the affected areas. It's hard to say without pictures on hand, but one can of my body paint covered 6-8 sq. ft on my body, and that was after I took the paint down to the bare metal with sanding. One can of clear coat left plenty to go around. You may want to purchase extra paint if you want factory-style coverage, but from a distance you can't tell mine was ever re-painted. This is the second car I have purchased paint for from AutomotiveTouchup and I'm very happy with the results, price, and service. Thanks!!

Walter P, owner of a 2004 Kia Optima from Coventry, RI

Fantastic paint. The match was right on and I like the amount of time if needed to dry. Your price is far less than purchasing the paint from a dealer or a paint store. My wife was happy with the way her car mirrors came out. Happy wife, happy life.

Kathy S, owner of a 2004 Kia Optima from Roanoke, VA

Everything was great. Color match couldn't have been better.

James G, owner of a 2004 Kia Optima from Portland, ME
