Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1994 Mazda Miata is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Mia, owner of a 1994 Mazda Miata from Olympia, WA

The paint color was really close, not perfect but that's because of my 26 year sun faded paint which is great, noticable but still close, I didn't think about that when I bought it. But the brush application on the 2oz bottle was horrible, I tried it multiple times and I could never get it to blend in as the same texture, I do not recommend using the applicator brush. So next time I'd probably remove the panel if I can and do a spray paint coat instead.

the paint match for my 1994 Miata was perfect. car looks fantastic.. Also. I called with a question, The person I talked to was courteous and knowledgeable

Rick, owner of a 1994 Mazda Miata from CA

We had a scrape on the rear impact bumper and minor to the quarter panel. I sanded it to feather the scrape, masked off the adjacent panels and tail light, but leaving room to blend the paint without leaving a line. I did three coats color and four clear in a day with 75 degrees high and 25% humidity and in the shade. 1994 Mazda Miata. Perfect color match. It was white, but as my artist wife says, there are lots of whites! The car itself is 24 years old, but low mileage and always garaged. So, it would have been about $300+ to have the shop repaint it. This saved both the disruption and dollars. Good product; good directions.

Vehicle rebuilt after accident before I got it. Looked ok, but had some finish issues and some cracking bondo on aluminum hood. Paint badly sun faded too in four years of use. Sanded body and repaired bondo, used the spray primer, like it a lot, best I've used. Decided to try using spray cans for whole car, I've painted several cars in the past, but no longer have the equipment. Base color went on ok, worked in sections and masked off surrounding areas. Found color to be slightly different than what had been sprayed on the car previously, not an issue as I do not like red anyway and was planning on doing the whole thing. First few cans of clearcoat went on fine, looked very good, then one can had a mishap, fluid came out from under the spray nozzle and made drops all over the area I was working on, stopped immediately and got another can to continue. Managed to save that area without much fuss and finished the car. This was a long process as I had to reorder paint twice and used about 16 cans of clear and 14 of color altogether. Car looks much better, shiny again and really RED. I used the same products to repair a "keyed" door on my Jeep to great success, that is why I decided to try doing the whole car this way, and it worked out fine, though a little spendy for the paint!

Danny V, owner of a 1994 Mazda Miata from Everett, WA

My Miata is 20 years old. Before I bought it the previous owner had it repainted the stock color but there had been a "bumper" incident. The 3 local auto supply stores didn't even carry paint for a car this old so I went to the pro body supplier. They were going to charge $55.00 to mix the old stock color for me then another $12.00 to put it in a spray can, then I needed to buy a topcoat. It would have been enough to paint half my car. Thankfully I found you and for half the price got paint plus clear coat. The job looks great and its a perfect color match. Soon I will order paint for my other car.

Martin H, owner of a 1994 Mazda Miata from Bethesda, MD
