Restore Your 1969 Mercedes-Benz (All Models) Finish In Two Steps

Select Your Mercedes-Benz's Color (Step One)

AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1969 Mercedes-Benz (All Models) using a basecoat/clearcoat system just like factory specs. To insure a proper match, you’ll need to know your vehicle’s color code, so you can find it on the chart below. The code on your identificaiton sticker will normally have many numbers in it with no prefix identifying a number as a paint code. The paint code will either be three or four digits. Some times the code will have a prefix of DB but this is not consistant. Click here for Mercedes Benz examples.

Please note: The 'All Models' pages sometimes have a large amount of results to scroll through, if your vehicle's model is in the list of options on the prior screen we recommend trying that first.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1969 Mercedes-Benz (All Models) is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Ralph N, owner of a 1969 Mercedes-Benz from Birmingham, AL

The color Mercedes Benz 291 for my 280sl is a good match. I am not expert enough to get the full benefit. I used the rattle cans to repaint a couple of wheel covers I had stripped. I used with the primer and perhaps I applied a little to much. Where I masked the Star and around the masked edge it does not feather out. I may try a little rubbing compound. My masking skills aren’t the greatest! I repaired some small scrapes and scratches on original color hubcaps with your paint from the screw cap bottles. Again the build is a little high and I can’t sand these places without ruining the original finish. From a few feet away they look ok.

Jay, owner of a 1969 Mercedes-Benz from VA

The 280 SL had been repainted a different color about 30 years ago. I went to Automotive Touch Up after my local paint supplier was unable to come up with codes for the factory original MB colors. ATU had MB colors that were close and that were 2-stage to boot. So now I have a source for paint that I can call on to help me return this car to its original color scheme.

Ronald W, owner of a 1970 Mercedes-Benz from San Francisco, CA

Very satisfied with your products. Have to watch for paint drops with primer and base coat when applying downward.
