CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 2000 Mercury Montego, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code can be located in the driver side door jamb. Click here for a Mercury paint code location diagram and label example.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 2000 Mercury Montego is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

John B, owner of a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis from Irving, TX

I ordered touch up paint for my wife's 01 Mercury Grand Marquis and it was a perfect match, even for a car this old. Thank. John Baccus, Irving, TX

Kenneth B, owner of a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis from Mason, OH

I have not yet used the touch-up paint as I am still doing some prep. But I should get to it soon. Expect great success with my 2001 Mercury. Just took it for its 54,000 mile oil change. This vehicle is in my life for some time. PS in my now 60 years of car ownership and driving, I have only traded 1 vehicle. That was a 1966 Dodge Monaco where the body simply feel apart. It still ran good but looked like a traveling scrap heap. Didn't get much for a trade, but couldn't stand its appearance. The others I have driven until they croaked and I called the scrap yard people to come get them. I have a 2nd vehicle currently, a 1997 Dodge Caravan Wheelchair Conversion van. It has a few more miles, I believe just turned 75,000, but is also low mileage due to wheelchair transport - that is just not a high mileage sport. I have a very good local mechanic who took over the business from his dad. Whenever anything goes sour on the van I simply say Sam Fix It! The cost of new wheelchair transport vans is such I agree with Sam he can give me a running vehicle for a fraction on the cost. Just so it stays looking good, which it has. So glad I have found a source of factory compliant paint. Makes my outlook at the future much brighter.
