Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1997 Subaru Vivio is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Hi! At first the paint appeared to be more of a cream appearance than the stock finish. Different light from the sun was messing with Me a little bit...there is a small difference, but colors!! They will mess with You. With a hvlp gun I was able to shoot the left fender (with black primer) both bumpers, half of the left rear quarter panel, and some touch up.....I still have a little bit left. Half the clear coat is left. I checked the color code (belatedly, I admit) and it is Subaru 230, exactly what is on the can. This is with a pint of premix! I'm used to buying a quart of paint for such a project. In conclusion, I will buy another pint to do the hood and further touchups. Thanks, Roger

The automotive touchup paints I bought for our cars worked really well. I first used the primer and then the true color coat and it all came out as good as you could want for touchup. Makes the cars look close to new with the paint chips gone. You get a good value on these products compared to other retailers. I did buy the little paint sticks which are perfect and really better for application than the larger brushes that come out of the bottles. They are really low cost and customers should always be encouraged to buy these for minor applications. Bottom line: Really happy with the results!
